just to remind you

remember when I wrote that just because I identify as being a friend with God this will not mean that every day is going to be absolutely perfect? Well!, this week has proved my words to be correct in many ways. My week started with a blowout in my colostomy bag at 3.15am. Let’s not go into specific details but just accept that it is not a pretty picture, and one which takes me the entire day to have the unit back to ‘normal’ after washing bedding, clothing, floors, bathroom, myself and, occasionally, my adopted cat prince. We still don’t need the specifics but there is a nasty odour associated with a colostomy bag which has broken it’s seal. My Cat Prince has a limited tolerance for bad smells and as I was cleaning up the mess from the leak in my colostomy bag little Prince began dry retching. I tried to lift him from the chair unto the floor when he surprised me with a projectile vomit which travelled from one side of the room to another; Again, no need for specifics but I hope I have been able to describe the chaos that I was faced with last week before the sun had even come up on Sunday morning. It’s strange- when my nephews and nieces were little toddlers I had to leave the room if my sisters were changing nappies. Nowadays, even when the mess is 10 times the volume, I can put the image and smell out of my head, grab a roll of paper towel, and get on with cleaning up. Now perhaps that is not exactly what God meant when He said He will never give us any more than we can cope with but This is happening on an almost regular basis and I have to deal with it. I also had a nose that could run faster than Usain Bolt, a non stop cough with itchy throat and sledge hammers pounding on the inside of my head this week. I checked for covid 3 times but it was just a cold, which I knew would eventually pass. You know- As sick as I am with my cancer and limited abilities due to the stroke I was not stressed or concerned. See, God has given me an incredible imune system. I knew that I would feel a little ‘off colour’ for a few days so I was never concerned about how I was feeling because I knew , with all of my heart, and with every fibre of my being That God would be right beside me until I was well again

I imagine that some people will doubt my words. As believers we use the word ‘Faith’ regularly. I promise every single one of you; That you will only need one ‘God-instance’ in your life to turn your life on it’s head. Just One! I have lost count of my ‘God-instances’, which is why I am sitting here this very minute trying to type something which you may find meaningful, believable and relatable.

It is not hard. If God can find me inside of this sinner then He can find you! You don’t have to be a genius. there are some parts of the Bible that even a child can understand- and there are other parts which challenge even the highest intellectual thinkers. Spiritual matters require spiritual thinking. I’m sorry if That all sounds too hard. It’s Not. Simply put- Before you read your bible ask God to help you understand.

You will be leaning new things about God for eternity but I promise that God will reveal more of the truth as you are ready for it

Before I read through what I have written today and check for spelling and grammatical? diskrepancees I am going to apologise right now for being hard to follow. Perhaps If I swallow a dictionary, my entire english high school syllabus text books and enroll in a tafe course on how to write a blog what I put on the page may make sense? Until then- you just keep getting what your given. May God bless you all. Remember Jesus loves you dearly. and keep smiling. Tomorrow is a whole new day
